Orthophotography within the Nelson rural area in the Nelson City District captured within the 2018/19 flying season (September 2018 – April 2019).

Imagery was captured for Nelson City Council by Aerial Surveys Ltd, Unit A1, 8 Saturn Place, Albany,0632, New Zealand.

Data comprises:
•80 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.

The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the supplied tile layout shape file for specific details, naming conventions, etc.

Imagery supplied as 0.30 m pixel resolution (0.30m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ±0.5 m @ 95% confidence level.

Orthophotography within the Tasman region taken in the flying season (summer period) of 2017-2018. Coverage is of the Richmond area in the Tasman region.

Imagery was captured for the ‘Tasman District Council’ by AAM NZ Limited, 6 Ossian St, NAPIER, New Zealand.

Data comprises:

• 77 x ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:1,000 tile layout

•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.

The Nelson 1955 to NZVD2016 Conversion Raster provides users with a two arc-minute (approximately 3.6 kilometres) raster image of the conversion of normal-orthometric heights from the Nelson 1955 local vertical datum to the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016).

The conversion value is represented by the attribute “O”, in metres.
This conversion and NZVD2016 are formally defined in the LINZ standard LINZS25009.

The height conversion grid models the difference between the Nelson 1955 vertical datum and NZVD2016 using the LINZ GPS-levelling marks. From the GPS-levelling marks the expected accuracy is better than 2 centimetres (95% Confidence interval).

More information on converting heights between vertical datums can be found on the LINZ website.

This layer contains the Index Tiles for LiDAR data from the Nelson and Tasman region captured between 2008 and 2015. The Digital Surface Model has not been included because of the varying timeframes of the base datasets. There are also small gaps between most datasets.

Lidar was captured for Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council by New Zealand Aerial Mapping, Aerial Surveys and AAM New Zealand between May 2008 and December 2015. Data management and distribution is by Land Information New Zealand.

Data comprises:

  • DEM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout
