Dunedin 0.1m Urban Aerial Photos (2018-2019)
Orthophotography within the Otago Region taken in the flying seasons (summer period) 2018-2019. Coverage encompassed the urban areas within the Dunedin City District.
Imagery was captured for Dunedin City Council by Aerial Surveys Ltd, Unit A1, 8 Saturn Place, Albany,0632, New Zealand.
Data comprises:
•1,372 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:1,000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.
The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the supplied tile layout shape file for specific details, naming conventions, etc.
Imagery supplied as 10cm pixel resolution (0.10m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ±0.2 m @ 95% confidence level.

Project
Aerial photography was captured over the Dunedin urban areas in the Dunedin City District totalling approximately 445 km2. The area of capture is located in the Otago Region of the South Island.
Data Acquisition
Aerial photography was captured using Vexcel's digital UCE camera:

Camera
All photography was captured using Vexcel's digital UCE camera and flown at:
0.10 m GSD: 6309 ft (1922 m) flying height. Camera Lens: 100 mm
Sun Angle
For aerial capture on this project the sun angle ranged from 35.3 to 60.1 degrees.
Flight Planning
SN13961 Dunedin Urban: 42 runs, 1734 frames
Stereo capture: Forward overlap 60%, min 54%. Side overlap 35%, min 15%
Stereo capture over Dunedin CBD area: 80% forward lap and 80% side lap
Environmental Specification
Imagery captured with no cloud or cloud shadow within the area of interest. All harbour, coastal and tidal areas captured within two hours either side of low tide, however this was relaxed by Council.
Urban Building Displacement Specification
Buildings within 0.2 m of their true position. 90% of roof outlines not displaced more than 1 m. CBD area captured with 80% forward overlap and 80% sidelap to reduce building lean.
