Canterbury 0.2m Rural Aerial Photos (2020-2021)

2020
Orthophotography within the Canterbury Region taken in the flying seasons (summer periods) 2020-2021. Coverage is of the Canterbury region including Timaru and Ashburton.
Imagery was captured for Environment Canterbury by Aerial Surveys Ltd, Unit A1, 8 Saturn Place, Rosedale,0632, New Zealand.
Data comprises:
•1198 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5,000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.
The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the tile index layer for specific details, naming conventions, etc.
Imagery supplied as 20 cm pixel resolution (0.20 m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ±0.6 m @ 68% confidence level.

Project
Aerial photography was captured over the Canterbury Region covering an area totalling approximately 9,416 km2. The area of capture covers part of the Canterbury Region of the South Island.
Data Acquisition
Aerial photography was captured using Vexcel's digital UCE during the 2020/2021 flying season.
Captured on the following dates
3 December 2020, 13 January 2021, 16 January 2021, 7 February 2021, 20-21 February 2021, 9 March 2021, 13-14 March 2021
Camera
All photography was captured using Vexcel's digital UCE camera fitted with the 100 mm lens and
flown at an altitude of approximately 12,708 ft (3,873 m) with the lowest ground GSD set at 0.20m.
Sun Angle
Imagery captured with a minimum sun angle of +35 degrees. The sun angle of the imagery used for the orthorectification ranged from 46 to 67.5 degrees.
Flight Planning
The flight survey number for this project is SN14089.
The flight plan is named 'Tim-Ash Rural 20cm UCE V4' comprising 90 runs, 5,838 frames. All imagery
captured in stereo: forward overlap 60%, min 54%; side overlap 35%, min 15%.
Environmental Specification
Imagery captured with no cloud or cloud shadow within the area of interest. Imagery for all harbour,
coastal and tidal areas acquired during low tide periods, being two hours either side of low tide.
Rivers captured at time of low river flow.
