Project
Aerial Surveys Ltd was engaged by Nelson City Council, Tasman District Council and Waka Kotahi to acquire Lidar and Aerial Photos in response to the Top of the South Island severe weather emergency event August 2022.
Camera and Flying Height
All photography was captured using Optech's digital PhaseOne camera fitted with the 50 mm lens and flown at an altitude of approximately 6,397 ft (1,950 m) with the lowest ground GSD set at 0.15 m.
Capture Dates
The aerial imagery was captured on the following date:
23 August 2022 to 6 September 2022.
Sun Angle
The sun angle of the imagery used for the orthorectification ranged from 24.1 to 36.9 degrees.
Flight Planning
The flight survey number for this project is SN14266. All imagery captured in stereo: minimum forward overlap 60%; side overlap 30%.
Environmental Specification
Imagery captured with minimal cloud. Cloud areas that impact LiDAR point density or specific sites of detail have been re-flown. An attempt was made to capture tidal areas at or near low tide.
Ground Control
A combination of existing control and LINZ benchmarks were used for aerial triangulation for this project.
