Project
AAM was engaged by Auckland Council to undertake aerial survey over Auckland during the
2015-2016 flying season. This report covers the conventional orthophotos captured and
created over the wider Auckland area in the 2015-2016 flying season, and merging of this
data with the CBD coverage. Photography over the wider Auckland area was captured with a
VisionMap A3 Edge camera from a fixed wing aircraft between 23 February and 27 April
2016. (65% of the project area was produced in the 2015-16 season).
This dataset was produced to meet the project spatial accuracy specification of +/- 15 cm.
This dataset is supplied in NZTM projection, in LINZ Topo50 1:1000 tiles.
Acquisition: Aerial photography was acquired from a fixed wing aircraft between 23 February
and 27 April 2016.
Ground Support: GPS base station support was sourced from continuously operating
reference stations in and around the project area. Ground control points were field surveyed by
by Opus International Consultants. Surveys were conducted over the CBD on 19 November
2015; over the wider Auckland Region between 10 December to 3 February 2016; Waiheke
Island on 15 March 2016; and Great Barrier Island on 11-13 May 2016.
