Abstract

This layer contains the Index Tiles for LiDAR data from the Nelson and Tasman region captured between 2008 and 2015. The Digital Surface Model has not been included because of the varying timeframes of the base datasets. There are also small gaps between most datasets.

- The DEM is available as layer [Nelson and Tasman LiDAR 1m DEM (2008-2015)](http://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/95817-nelson-and-tasman-lidar-1m-dem-2008-2015/).

- The LAS point clouds and vendor project reports are available from LINZ on request (imagery@linz.govt.nz).

Lidar was captured for Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council by New Zealand Aerial Mapping, Aerial Surveys and AAM New Zealand between May 2008 and December 2015. Data management and distribution is by Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand.

Data comprises:

- DEM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

Vertical datum is NZVD2016.

Statement

This is a collection of historical datasets supplied from Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council captured between 2008 and 2015. Only the Digital Elevation Model is provided, the Digital Surface Model has not been included because of the varying timeframes of the base datasets.

This layer has been modified to account for overlaps between datasets and is a combination of 31 different datasets. Where there were overlaps between datasets, newer datasets have been given priority over older datasets, where possible. There are also small gaps between most datasets.

Lakes and large rivers were hydroflattened in the Bare Earth Digital Elevation Model.

This DEM layer is made up of the following datasets;
