The Dunedin 1958 to NZVD2016 Conversion Raster provides users with a two arc-minute (approximately 3.6 kilometres) raster image of the conversion of normal-orthometric heights from the Dunedin 1958 local vertical datum to the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016).

The conversion value is represented by the attribute “O”, in metres.
This conversion and NZVD2016 are formally defined in the LINZ standard LINZS25009.

The height conversion grid models the difference between the Dunedin 1958 vertical datum and NZVD2016 using the LINZ GPS-levelling marks. From the GPS-levelling marks the expected accuracy is better than 2 centimetres (95% Confidence interval).

This layer contains the index tiles for LiDAR data from the Canterbury Region captured between November 2016 and January 2017.

Lidar was captured for Environment Canterbury Regional Council by AAM New Zealand between November 2016 and January 2017. The datasets were generated by AAM New Zealand and their subcontractors. Data management and distribution is by Land Information New Zealand.

Data comprises:

  • DEM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

  • DSM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

  • Point cloud: las tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:2,000 tile layout

Imagery was captured for the Canterbury Regional Council by Aerial Surveys Ltd, Unit A1, 8 Saturn Place, Albany,0632, New Zealand.

Data comprises:
•2,467 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5,000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.

The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the supplied tile layout shape file for specific details, naming conventions, etc.

This layer contains the Index Tiles for LiDAR data from the Mackenzie Region, Canterbury captured in 2015.

Lidar was captured for Genesis Energy Limited by Aerial Surveys Limited in Feb 2015. The original dataset was generated by Aerial Surveys and their subcontractors. This reprocessed dataset was supplied by Aerial Surveys to Land Information New Zealand, and includes a large area (peripheral data from the original survey). The survey area is in the Mackenzie District of Canterbury, between Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki, Lake Ohau and Lake Ruataniwha. This area also includes Twizel Township. Data management and distribution is by Land Information New Zealand.

Data comprises:

  • DEM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

  • DSM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.
