The One Tree Point 1964 to NZVD2016 Conversion Raster provides users with a two arc-minute (approximately 3.6 kilometres) raster image of the conversion of normal-orthometric heights from the One Tree Point 1964 local vertical datum to the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016).

The conversion value is represented by the attribute “O”, in metres.
This conversion and NZVD2016 are formally defined in the LINZ standard LINZS25009.

The height conversion grid models the difference between the One Tree Point 1964 vertical datum and NZVD2016 using the LINZ GPS-levelling marks. From the GPS-levelling marks the expected accuracy is better than 2 centimetres (95% Confidence interval).

This index enables you to identify digital bathymetric surface models created by LINZ using third party data. This data provides a 3-dimensional model of the surface of the seafloor.

These surface models have been created by LINZ from third party single- or multi-beam data collected in the New Zealand coastal area since 2009. The polygons in the index show the extent of these gridded data models, and include descriptive information, such as the age and quality of the data.

The gridded surface models are not downloadable from the LINZ Data Service, but can be requested.

Please refer to the LINZ Bathymetric Index Data Dictionary for further information about the attributes of this dataset, and formats in which the data is available.

How to order the data:
Requests for the models should be sent to customersupport@linz.govt.nz with “Hydro Bathy Data” in the subject line. Requests must, as a minimum, specify the id and surf_name of the models of interest and the data format (see the options in Section 1.4 of the Bathymetric Data Dictionary).

It may take a few days to get the surface models generated from third party funded bathymetric data to you, as we need to confirm with the data owner that they are happy for their data to be released. The owner may attach conditions to the release of their data.

LINZ also holds publically funded bathymetric data for the New Zealand coastal area, which can be readily released under a Creative Commons licence for reuse. View our "NZ Bathymetric Surface Model Index" dataset to request this data.

Orthophotography in the Northland Region taken in the flying season (summer period) 2014 - 2016. Coverage is of all areas areas within the Far North district, The Kaipara district, Whanagei City, Northland Regional council areas.

Imagery was captured for the ‘Northland Aerial Imagery Consortium (NAIC)’ by Aerial Surveys Ltd, Unit A1, 8 Saturn Place, Albany,0632, New Zealand.

Data comprises:
•2,465 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5,000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.

The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. The products are tiled into NZTopo50 1:5,000 tiles. Please refer to the supplied tile layout shape file for specific details, naming conventions, etc.

Imagery supplied as 40cm pixel resolution (0.4m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is +/-0.6m @ 67% confidence level in clear open spaces

The OTP64-NZVD2016 grid enables the conversion of normal-orthometric heights from the One Tree Point 1964 local vertical datum to the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016).

The conversion value is represented by the attribute “O”, in metres.

This conversion and NZVD2016 are formally defined in the LINZ standard LINZS25009.

OTP64-NZVD2016 is published on a two arc-minute grid (approximately 3.6 kilometres) extending over the benchmarks that nominally define the extent of the One Tree Point 1964 vertical datum (171.3° E to 174.4° E, 40.4° S to 42.7° S).

The height conversion grid models the difference between the One Tree Point 1964 vertical datum and NZVD2016 using the LINZ GPS-levelling marks. From the GPS-levelling marks the expected accuracy of OTP64-NZVD2016 is better than 1 centimetre (95% Confidence interval).

The OTP64-NZGD2000 grid enables the conversion of normal-orthometric heights from the One Tree Point 1964 local vertical datum directly to New Zealand Geodetic Datum 2000 (NZGD2000) ellipsoidal heights.

OTP64-NZGD2000 is published on a one arc-minute grid (approximately 1.8 kilometres) extending over the benchmarks that nominally define the extent of the One Tree Point 1964 vertical datum (172.6° E to 175.0° E, 34.3° S to 36.8° S).
The conversion value is represented by the attribute “delta”, in metres.

This grid is a combination of New Zealand Quasigeoid 2016 NZGeoid2016 and the OTP64-NZVD2016 height conversion grid. Where NZGeoid2016 is the reference surface for the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016), while the OTP64-NZVD2016 grid models the difference between the One Tree Point 1964 vertical datum and NZVD2016 using the LINZ GPS-levelling marks.
