This layer contains the Index Tiles for LiDAR data in the Waikato Region covering Thames Township captured between 2017 and 2019.

LiDAR was captured for Waikato Regional Council by Aerial Surveys in February 2017, March 2018 and April 2019. These datasets were generated by Aerial Surveys and their subcontractors. Data management and distribution is by Land Information New Zealand.

Data comprises:

  • DEM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

  • DSM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

  • Point cloud: las tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

Pulse density specification is at a minimum of 4.23 pulses/square metre.

Vertical datum is NZVD2016.

Imagery was captured for Hamilton City Council by Aerial Surveys Ltd, Unit A1, 8 Saturn Place, Albany,0632, New Zealand.

Data comprises:
•1,472 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:1,000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.

The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the supplied tile layout shape file for specific details, naming conventions, etc.

The Auckland 1946 to NZVD2016 Conversion Raster provides users with a two arc-minute (approximately 3.6 kilometres) raster image of the conversion of normal-orthometric heights from the Auckland 1946 local vertical datum to the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016).

The conversion value is represented by the attribute “O”, in metres.
This conversion and NZVD2016 are formally defined in the LINZ standard LINZS25009.

The height conversion grid models the difference between the Auckland 1946 vertical datum and NZVD2016 using the LINZ GPS-levelling marks. From the GPS-levelling marks the expected accuracy is better than 2 centimetres (95% Confidence interval).

More information on converting heights between vertical datums can be found on the LINZ website.

Aerial Photos were captured for the Thames Coromandel District Council by UAV Mapping NZ Ltd. Captured photos were later processed into Orthophotography by Opus International Consultants Ltd.

Data comprises:
•611 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:500 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.
