ASP: Map 260 (Deprecated)
**In June 2014, LINZ moved the information from the Authoritative Streets and Places database (ASP) into Landonline and the ASP database is no longer maintained. ** ****************************************** This table is a lookup table identifying valid NZMS 260 sheet references.
This table is part of the Authoritative Streets and Places (ASP) Database. For more information about the database including the data model see [here](http://www.linz.govt.nz/property-addressing/address-road-places-data).
- The NZMS260 map series has been replaced by the newer [Topo50](http://www.linz.govt.nz/topography/topo-maps/topo50/index.aspx) map series. If you would like to see the relationship between the NZMS 260 and Topo50 sheet extents see [here](http://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/295-nz-topo-map-sheet-topo50/) and [here](http://koordinates.com/layer/413-nzms-260-map-series-index/) - This table contains a static unique identifier 'id' column that is not part of the original published ASP [database](http://www.linz.govt.nz/property-addressing/address-road-places-data). This column has been added to support incremental changesets on LDS. There is a direct relationship between this column and the original primary key on the 'map_id' column.
This table is a lookup table identifying valid NZMS 260 sheet references. The combination of the Map 260 and Map 10000 values is used as the grid reference on the maps at the back of the published Index to Places & Streets.

The ASP database was designed to support the electoral system, its primary purpose to provide an authoritative listing of Streets and Places in New Zealand, and to be able to report these by Local Authority, General or Maori Electorate, or No-Licence District.
Under the Electoral Act, LINZ must hold an authoritative record of all road names in New Zealand; and the Local Government Act charges local authorities with the responsibility of assigning road names and street address.
