Please read: This is the look-up table for Organisation and is part of the set of comprehensive AIMS Address Tables.

The Organisation look-up table is used by the following tables; AIMS: Addressable Object.

The comprehensive address dataset includes eight data tables and nine lookup tables. The dataset has been sourced from LINZ’s Address Information Management System (AIMS), a centralised database for the management of national addresses, including for electoral purposes. This set of normalised tables replaces the single Landonline: Street Address layer currently published on LDS.

This layer contains information advised to LINZ by Territorial Authorities (TAs). Under the Local Government Act 1974 (section 319) it is the responsibility of the TAs to advise LINZ (the Surveyor General) of all allocated addresses in their district.

For a simplified version of the data contained within these tables see NZ Street Address.

Please refer to the Street Address Data Dictionary for detailed metadata and information about this layer.

Please read: This is the Road table, which is part of the set of NZ Roads tables. The Road table holds an identifier used to group one or many road sections that share a road name.

The NZ Roads dataset includes eight data tables and eleven lookup tables. The dataset has been sourced from LINZ’s NZ Roads database, a database for the management of national roads, including those managed for addressing purposes. This set of normalised tables replaces the Landonline: Road Centre Line layer and the Landonline: Road Name and Landonline: Road Name Association tables currently published on LDS.

These centrelines are required to indicate the presence of an authoritative road name. Named centrelines are not intended to represent the exact location of a road formation. Named centrelines do not indicate the presence of legal access.

This dataset was last updated on LINZ Data Service on 11 Oct 2015.

In June 2014, LINZ moved the information from the Authoritative Streets and Places database (ASP) into Landonline and the ASP database is no longer maintained.

This table contains the authoritative name assigned to a length of road. A street record will exist for every distinct length of named road. This may be split into several records if the road crosses a Territorial Authority (TA) boundary (because the TA is the naming authority), or if the road has multiple number ranges. Named roads that follow TA boundaries or meander backwards and forwards across a boundary will normally be treated as one record with multiple Street Parts.

This table is part of the Authoritative Streets and Places (ASP) Database. For more information about the database including the data model see here.

Notes:

  • Some reports generated from ASP require the STREET_NAME+ LOCALITY+STATUS combination to be unique, so validation rules have been put in place enforce this.
  • The locality names currently used in the STREETS table are not ideal, and are considered a work in progress. The main function of LOCALITY in ASP is to achieve uniqueness, and where 2 streets of the same name exist, to be able to differentiate between them.
  • At the time of original conversion form the earlier Oracle database, in late 2004, the locality name was initially populated with the name of the locality in which most of the road centreline resided (based on meshblock to Place relationships held in Landonline), or where there was a relatively even split, to the closest locality. Some longer roads have had “Place to Place” locality names added e.g. “Christchurch-Kaiapoi”. We are aware that some of the names assigned are not ideal,

These centrelines are required to indicate the presence of an authoritative road name. Named centrelines are not intended to represent the exact location of a road formation. Named centrelines do not indicate the presence of legal access.

Please read: This is the Road Section table, which is part of the set of NZ Roads tables.

The Road Section table holds an identifier to group related geometries along a road. The data model allows for multiple geometries for a single road section. Road sections are broken at changes in the road network, e.g. intersections, changes in road name and road construction, and at locations where address ranges reset.
